The quarter is over & Dr. Jennifer Smith has finished teaching her Phycology course.  The course consisted of lectures about the basics of algal anatomy and taxonomy as well as a lab portion where her students collected and identified various algal species native to San Diego. Her students also compiled them into herbariums which we hope to turn into digital libraries to share with the public.  The class took a lot of work, but it was a lot of fun and everyone learned a lot!
