The Earth Day Team

Members from the Smith and Sandin lab joined together to celebrate Earth Day at Qualcomm Headquarters. This was a great opportunity for our group to share some of the work we are doing to help understand and protect coral reef ecosystems with the public.

Clint Edwards, a M.Sc. student with the Smith Lab who was at the event said “It was great share the research we do here at SIO. The group at Qualcomm were really enthusiastic about the work we are doing. It sounds cliché but people were genuinely excited about Earth Day and it makes me remember why I am excited about marine science too”.

The whole team would like to congratulate Qualcomm on a job well done on this event; it is always nice to see a local business giving back to the community and planet.
